Without knowing the process of what actually happened to everyone it's impossible to know which stone was used. The movies do not follow the comics. The current theory is that it was the soul stone that was used to trap them all within and none of them(except Loki lol) are actually dead injustice 2 joker costumes.
Regardless of which stone(s) got used the result is actually the power of all 6. Each stone is actually enhanced by the power of the others. Each stone grows in power when used with another stone, the special case being the power stone which has the special ability of increasing each stones power even more then any of the other stones would. That is why THANOS needed all 6. The power he displayed is not possible without all 6 stones green arrow and black canary costumes.
Additionally if your asking specifically which stone made the deaths random then it was most likely the mind and time stone. This is because the deaths were only random in that THANOS randomly chose them. As you can see Tony didn't “die” And it's almost certainly because of the deal Dr. Strange made with THANOS. This shows that THANOS randomly chose who lived and died, not the stones and he used the mind and time stone to do it in the snap of a finger.thea queen halloween costume
Of course this is just speculation as to how Thanos pulled off such an unimaginable feat. Afterall, the infinity gauntlet provides it's user with virtual omnipotence. In the comics, superheros simply turned transparent and faded out of existence rather than disintegrating into dust, so it proves that thanos could've chosen any of the infinite combinations(pun not intended) to kill half the life in the universe. Afterall, the infinity gauntlet does provide it's user with virtual omnipotence. However, I belive his version served a better medium to convey the serverity of his actions on the big screen.
